European Judo Championships move to Budapest

The solemn closing ceremony of the European Judo Championships was held in Chelyabinsk. The flag of the European Judo Union was handed over to Laszlo Toth, the President of the Hungarian Judo Association. It will be in Budapest in 2013 that the next championships will be held.

“I am amazed by the way the competition is organized in Chelyabinsk,” Dr. Toth noted. “It will not be easy for us to perform on the same level.”

Dmitriy Chernykh, the Vice President of the Russian Judo Federation, in his turn, thanked the EJU for giving Chelyabinsk the right to host the tournament this year.

“I appreciate the opportunity to show the city on the European level. I am sure everything went fine,” Chernykh said.

Just a reminder, 377 representatives of 45 countries participated in the European Championships in Chelyabinsk.
